Food for Thought Facts

Food For Thought is a collaboration of service, kids feeding kids lead by Vision Charter Academy.

  • Food For Thought serves all the Delta County Schools.
  • The fundraising, planning, budgeting, shopping, inventory, filling, pickup and delivery of backpacks is completed voluntarily by students.
  • Money donated goes to food for kids and supplies for the program and it is tax deductible.
  • Please mail donations or memorial contributions to 263 Main Street Unit 1, Delta, CO 81416.
  • Average cost of food per pack is $3-$4 including food donations.
  • The average cost is $15000 per year.
  • Provides nutrition and security to support for the learning of the pre-school through high school students.
  • Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year 2011 and 2018.
  • Sponsoring a child...
    - $5 supports a deserving child for one weekend of supplemental food.
    - $20 provides enough food for a month's worth of weekends.
    - $140 will take care of weekend food for one child for a school year.
